- 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
- 2 tsp fresh ginger (minced)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water, mixed together
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
Mix together all ingredients EXCEPT for the cornstarch mixture and rice vinegar
Heat the mixture in a small pot over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes before mixing in the cornstarch mixture
Continue to cook the sauce until it bubbles and thickens (1-2 minutes) before turning off heat and mixing in rice vinegar
This might need a little more cornstarch and cooking time to thicken up a bit more. You can also use the mixture prior to step 3 as a marinade
